All criminal charges against former Tennessee Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed stemming from an alleged 2024 shooting have been dropped, per NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Sneed was accused by two men, Christian Nshimiyimana and Avi Ahmed, of shooting at them from his car outside of an exotic car dealership in December 2024.
The men were sitting inside their own car when they say Sneed and his assistant fired shots at them while driving past. No one was injured in the alleged incident, but witnesses identified Sneed and an assistant as the two people in the car.
He was originally charged with aggravated assault, which was later reduced to misdemeanor failure to report a felony. Ultimately, the charge was dropped altogether.
After Tuesday’s news came out, Sneed took to social media with a sigh of relief.
Nshimiyimana also filed a $1 million lawsuit against Sneed after the alleged incident, which is still ongoing.
With the criminal charges dropped, Sneed may not face any punishment from the NFL and could return to the league.
He spent four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2020-2023, winning two Super Bowls in the process. He was later traded to the Titans in March 2024, who signed him to a four-year, $76 million deal.
Sneed battled a number of injuries that held him back the last two seasons and was released to free agency in March.
