Chiefs WR Rashee Rice serving jail time after parole violation

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice will now serve 30 days in jail and miss team OTAs after reportedly violating his parole with a positive marijuana test, per Matt Foster of KSHB 41 News.

Rice has been on probation as part of the sentencing he received for his role in a 2024 hit-and-run car crash involving several other vehicles. He later admitted to being behind the wheel of the Lamborghini at fault for the accident.

In 2025, he was sentenced to five years of probation and 30 days in jail. The ruling allowed Rice to choose when he serves that jail time, but only under the condition that he followed probation rules.

His recent positive test for marijuana violated probation, which means he’ll serve the 30 days of jail time now. Court records indicate that he is set to be released on June 16.

The NFL also penalized Rice for the accident, suspending him for the first six games of last season. He returned to play eight games, recording 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns before being shut down for the season with a concussion.

He is now set to miss both the team OTAs and mandatory minicamp.
