The Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to a four-year $42-million extension with tight end Darnell Washington on Thursday according to ESPN.
The deal includes $21 million guaranteed.

Standing at 6-foot-7 and 300 pounds, Washington was drafted by the Steelers in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft and has served as a major asset in the offense’s rushing attack.
However, he posted career highs in the receiving game in 2025 catching 31 passes for 363 yards and one touchdown. For his career Washington has amassed 57 receptions for 625 yards and two touchdowns.
Washington’s deal is a timely one for the Steelers who are seeing its primary tight end Pat Freiermuth enter the final year of his contract with the franchise.
