The Vegas Golden Knights are trading Pavel Dorofeyev to the New York Rangers. Dorofeyev is signing a seven-year extension with the Rangers for $11 million AAV.

Vegas will reportedly receive the Rangers 26th overall pick and third-round pick in this year’s draft, as well as a top-10 2028 protected first round pick.

Dorofeyev finished the season with 37 goals and 27 assists across all 82 games this season. However, the playoffs is where Dorofeyev shined the most. He finished with 12 goals and four assists across 22 playoff games. He also led the Stanley Cup Playoffs with 58 shots and five power-play goals.

The move was likely done to clear up cap space for the Golden Knights. They have had their eye on Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin, who has expressed interest in going to Vegas. With the newly acquired assets, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Golden Knights made a move.
