Back in July, the Denver Nuggets made arguably their biggest move of the offseason by signing nine-time All Star Russell Westbrook to a two-year contract worth $6.8 million.
Nuggets president Josh Kroenke recently spoke to The Denver Post and explained why they’re pairing Westbrook with Nikola Jokic.

“I got a chance to meet him in person for the first time right after the signing, and like I said, I’m very grateful to have him on our side, as I’ve seen him break our hearts for many years in Oklahoma City and elsewhere,” Kroenke said. “So, he’ll be a very good addition for us both on and off the court, especially with some young guys we’re hoping will take on bigger roles this year. Russ has seen it all, in and out of the NBA, so he’ll be a big part of who we are both in the locker room and on the court.”

Westbrook is seemingly a great fit with the roster, as he brings value on both sides of the ball. The playmaking wizardry of Jokic could amplify the already fierce interior scoring that the 2017 MVP brings to the table.
What is yet to be seen is just how he will fit into the rotation, although it seems likely that he won’t be a starter.
