The Minnesota Timberwolves picked up an impressive Game 2 win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday and Jaden McDaniels was honest when asked about how the Timberwolves put up enough points for the win.
“Go at [Nikola] Jokic, Jamal [Murray], all the bad defenders. Tim Hardaway, Cam Johnson, Aaron Gordon, the whole team,” McDaniels said.
When asked to clarify his stance, he obliged.
“Yeah, they’re all bad defenders. … They don’t got people that can defend the rim,” McDaniels said. “We’re still more athletic than them and just got to be able to finish when we do.”
The Timberwolves overcame a 19-point deficit behind 30 points and 10 rebounds from Anthony Edwards, who looked like his knee felt great.
Minnesota and Denver have made a habit of matching up in the playoffs and McDaniels’ comments early Tuesday morning may have added fuel to the fire of this new rivalry.
