NBA fans are shocked about Nico Harrison’s quote: “This isn’t Centel?”

Dallas Mavericks fans nearly lost their minds when they found out that the star, the franchise, Luka Doncic, was being traded away. They’re even more shocked today when they found out about Mavs’ general manager, Nico Harrison’s, latest quote.

When Harrison orchestrated the trade that sent Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, he faced a wave of criticism. In response to this hate from fans, Harrison stated something bizarre.

“I did know Luka was important to the fan base. I didn’t know quite to this level,” Harrison said.

This response, which was shared by the X account NBACentral (@TheDunkCentral), a legit NBA news source, had fans scratching their heads. Fans believed this post came from another account, NBA Centel (@TheNBACentel), a parody page.

Harrison’s quote can not be true. Can it? If it is and not some sort of internet joke, then it shows how out of touch he is with Mavericks basketball. The Mavericks need to bounce back and have a great season next year.

If Dallas fails and struggles all season long, Nico Harrison may get fired and the Mavericks will move on in another direction.
