The Los Angeles Lakers escaped with a 104-98 victory over the second-seeded Houston Rockets last night. But according to Luka Doncic, it was the “worst game as a trio,” referring to himself, LeBron James, and Austin Reaves.

“I think that was our worst game as a trio. I think we shared the ball great, everybody was getting their shots, pick-and-pop, pick-and-roll, everybody was involved, and that’s how we like to play.”
Despite the Big 3’s somewhat lackluster performance—Doncic scoring 20 points on 6-16 shooting, James adding 18 on 5-12, and Reaves contributing 12 on 5-11—Doncic remained optimistic about the team’s direction moving forward.
“We battled. We said before the game that it would be like a playoff game, and it was. The physicality was tough, but we battled through it… Just go it game by game. Can’t look forward, go game-by-game. Every game’s gonna be a battle, and we’re gonna try and win every game.”
As the season winds down, the Lakers will continue to battle, hoping to improve their playoff seeding. Ultimately, Doncic, along with James, feel confident in their chances at winning an NBA championship this year.
