Utah’s second-overall pick Darryn Peterson electrified the crowd in the Jazz’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies 109-100. Peterson exhibited such poise going up against fellow first-round pick Cameron Boozer, as he led his team to another Summer League victory.

While the third-overall pick Boozer had a great game, putting up 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, Peterson still managed to steal the show. The Kansas alum put up 25 points, 12 assists, and 2 steals while shooting over 50% from the field.

Peterson was the clear offensive leader of this team, as he repeatedly created wide open shots for himself and his teammates. He displayed his whole skillset, draining deep threes, spinning to make mid-range jump shots, and settting up his teammates for easy scores. Considering Peterson has not played a game of basketball since March, it is incredible to see him play with such elegance.

However, Boozer did not slouch. He drained 4 threes, shot over 60% from the field, and banged down low against the other big men. Both newcomers exhibited great basketball skillsets tonight, and the Summer League is just getting started for them. The best might be yet to come.
