Cleveland Cavaliers become sixth team ever to start 14-0

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Chicago Bulls 144-126 on Friday and became just the sixth team in league history to start a season 14-0. They scored a franchise-record 49 points in the first quarter on 86% shooting from the floor.

Despite the red-hot scoring, the Cavs’ defense allowed Chicago to slim the lead down to just four points at halftime.

Second half heroics from Donovan Mitchell helped Cleveland seal the win, finishing with 37 points and seven rebounds. Darius Garland was another huge factor as he put up 29 points and nine assists. In total, four Cavaliers players finished with 20 points or more.

For the Bulls, Coby White finished with 29 points while Nikola Vucevic finished with 25 points and eight rebounds.

The 14-0 start is the longest winning streak in Cavs history and is the longest streak ever by a first-year head coach. They will face off against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday and the Bulls will play the Houston Rockets on Sunday.
