Free agent forward Rui Hachimura has agreed to sign a two-year, $28 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

He won’t have to go very far, as he’s spent the last four seasons as a valuable role player for the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to Charania’s sources, Hachimura actually declined offers from the Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, Brooklyn Nets and San Antonio Spurs so that he could remain in L.A.

The 28-year-old is coming off a terrific season in which he shot the ball very effectively. He averaged 11.5 points while shooting 51.4% from the field and 44.3% from beyond the arc.

In the 2026 postseason, his numbers only increased. He put up 17.5 points while shooting 54.9% from the field and 56.9% from three in the playoffs before the Lakers were eliminated by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second round.

Now, he’ll be able remain in L.A. while getting a fresh start.
