Anthony Edwards says he’ll switch to the NFL if he wins an NBA title

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is one of the most confident athletes on the planet, and for good reason. The 23-year-old is coming off of a fantastic season that was followed up by gold medal win at the Paris Olympics. It’s safe to say he’s been busy.

In an excerpt released by ESPN of a sit-down between Edwards and fellow Minnesota sports star Justin Jefferson, Edwards was confident that he could play in the NFL. He even claimed that he might give football a shot if he wins an NBA title soon.

“I told my buddies, I said, ‘If I win a ring in the next 3-4 years, I’m going to play football.” Edwards said just before the clip ends.

Edwards has long been compared to Michael Jordan, and this time it’s not because of his on-court play style. Instead, it’s his similar motivations to try another sport at the professional level. While Edwards is nowhere near his prime as a basketball player, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Edwards make the switch from the hardwood to the gridiron.
