Bronny James breaks long-time rookie record held by LeBron

Los Angeles Lakers rookie guard Bronny James is no stranger to the spotlight. As the son of LeBron James, he’s facing as much pressure as any player that’s ever been drafted in the second round.

Although he has struggled tremendously on the court, the hype surrounding him is bigger than ever.

According to Nick Wright of Athlon Sports, Bronny has officially broken his father’s record for the most rookie jersey sales in NBA history.

“The numbers are staggering. With over 500,000 jerseys sold at roughly $100 a pop, Bronny has helped generate more than $50 million in revenue for the Lakers, setting an NBA record by surpassing even his father’s rookie jersey sales.”

Bronny is far from ready to make an impact at the NBA level, but he has plenty of time to develop his game in the G-League, all while having as much support behind him as any rookie in the league.
