The L.A. Lakers G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, tipped off their season Friday night in what was also the G-League debut for Bronny James.
The oldest son of LeBron James struggled offensively in the matchup, finishing with six points on 2-of-9 shooting, along with three rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes. Nevertheless, South Bay came out with the 110-96 victory over the Salt Lake City Stars.

The game sold out over 48 hours in advance as the venue was at full capacity for the game. His father LeBron, as well as most of his immediate family was in attendance alongside Lakers head coach J.J. Redick and Lakers teammates Anthony Davis and D’Angelo Russell.

Bronny’s first G-League bucket was a baseline pull-up midrange jumper, similar to the first NBA bucket he scored against the Cleveland Cavaliers. South Bay was led by Quincy Olivari and Maxwell Lewis, who each finished with 27 points or more.
With Bronny likely only playing home games for the South Bay Lakers, we should see him on the floor again on Nov. 17 against the Stockton Kings.
