Kevin Durant’s tenure in Phoenix has officially ended today. The Suns have traded Durant to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, and five second-round picks.

It looks like the Suns did not consult Durant before the trade. Durant may have been unaware of the Rockets being a destination for him.

Durant was on stage at Fanatics Fest in New York when he found out about the trade.

“We’re gonna see, man. We’re gonna see,” Durant said.

As Durant was answering about the trade news, he was seen shaking his head in apparent disbelief, or disgust. Rockets fans shouldn’t look too deep into Durant’s reaction, as he did boast a smile on his face.

Durant averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game, while shooting 52.7% from the field and 43.0% from three in this past season. KD should fit nicely alongside star guard Fred VanVleet.

The Rockets finished second in the West this past season, and with their talent and head coach Ime Udoka, Houston has a legitimate shot at winning the conference next year.
