Long-time Montreal Canadien forward Brendan Gallagher has confirmed that he will be moving on from the franchise this offseason. Gallagher has spent his entire career with the Canadiens.

Gallagher has become one of the more beloved players within the Canadiens organization. He was the 147th overall pick in the 2010 NHL draft and has played over 900 games for the franchise. He has tallied 246 goals and 241 assists across 14 seasons. In the 2015-16 season, he was named alternate captain and carried the rest of the time with the organization.

Gallagher did find some playing time this postseason. He played three games against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Round 1, including scoring the opening goal in Game 5. However, he was a scratch during the Canadiens series against the Buffalo Sabres and the Carolina Hurricanes.

He is currently under contract until the end of the 2026-27 season at $6.5 million. He has a modified no-trade clause.
