After nine seasons, Myles Garrett‘s time on the Cleveland Browns has officially come to an end.
On Monday, they sent Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for Pro Bowl edge Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 2nd-round pick and a 2029 3rd-round pick.

Later on Monday evening, Garrett released a statement on social media.
“To the Dawg Pound–thank you for embracing my family and I from Day 1,” Garrett wrote in the statement. “Thank you for every packed stadium, every moment of belief, every kid wearing my jersey, every message, every criticism, every expectation. I respected that then and I respect it now. I wish I could have done more for you.”
Garrett was drafted first overall by the Browns in 2017 and went on to play nine impressive seasons in Cleveland. By Year 2, he was an elite pass rusher and a member of the All-Pro second team.
He quickly became one of the best defensive players in the NFL. As he terrorized offenses for the Browns, he racked up seven Pro Bowl appearances and made the All-Pro first team five times.
Despite this individual success, the Browns only played three playoff games with Garrett on the field.
He ultimately requested a trade a year ago, citing his desire to play on a true contender.
“What I can say with complete honesty is this: I gave this city everything I had. I suited up and wore those colors with pride, and I don’t regret a second of being part of this storied franchise. Every Sunday. Every offseason. Every play. Every down. Every moment. You gave me more in return than I can ever repay.”
