The Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets started their Game 1 matchup tonight. This looked to be a challenging series, and everyone wondered who’d strike first.

It would be the Warriors, led by the greatest shooter ever, Stephen Curry. The Baby-Faced Assassin came out firing away, scoring 16 first-half points on 7-10 shooting.

Curry wouldn’t do it alone, however. “Playoff Jimmy” Butler showed up again, adding 13 points of his own in the first half, as Golden State took a 47-34 lead into the break. Butler continues to prove that he was the perfect pickup by Golden State.

The Rockets are a young team, and like many young teams, their players don’t quit. Houston battled strong in the third quarter, outscoring Golden State 26-22.

The Warriors took a 69-60 lead into the fourth and they wouldn’t give it up. Curry was just too good. The Warriors star hit ridiculous shot after ridiculous shot.

Houston kept fighting, keeping the game close, but in the end, Golden State prevailed. The Warriors defeated the Rockets 95-85, thanks to 31 points from Curry and 25 from Butler.

Game 2 is Wednesday at 9:30 PM EST.
