The Los Angeles Angels have fired general manager Perry Minasian. Longtime executive John Mozeliak will serve as the interim.
The Los Angeles Angels fired general manager Perry Minasian amid another disappointing season for the club, the team announced Friday.

Minasian was in the middle of his sixth season with the Angels, as well as in the final year of his contract. The Angels will now be looking for their fourth GM since 2012.
During his five full seasons with the team, the Angels never finished with more than 77 wins in a season. They also lost a franchise-record 99 games during the 2024 season. The team currently sits at 34-48, tied for the worst record in the American League.
Minasian gave out a plethora of bad contracts during his time. In 2021, he signed David Fletcher to a five-year $26 million deal. In 2024, he gave an injured Robert Stephenson a three-year $33 million contract. He also struggled to negotiate Shohei Ohtani‘s massive contract.
Mozeliak is expected to finish out the rest of the season as the interim GM.
