Brewers’ Jacob Misiorowski reaches 105.5 mph with historic pitch

Once again, Milwaukee Brewers starter Jacob Misiorowski has made history with a ridiculously fast pitch.

On Friday, he recorded a 105.5 mph fastball against Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, making it the third-fastest pitch on record.

Crow-Armstrong actually made contact on the pitch, fouling it away for an 0-2 count before striking out a few pitches later.

Misiorowski’s generational velocity was on full display in the first inning as he threw 12 four-seamers that all reached 102 mph or higher.

MLB veteran Aroldis Chapman is the only pitcher since tracking began to throw faster than Misiorowski. He reached 105.7 mph in 2016 and set the MLB record with a 105.8 mph pitch in 2010.

Given that velocity has been steadily increasing across the league since pitch-tracking began in 2008, it’s feasible to say that Misiorowski is getting very close to having thrown the fastest pitch in the history of the MLB.
