Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and his son Bronny James are now etched in history as the first father-son duo to play together in an NBA game, albeit during a preseason game.
During the second quarter of Sunday night’s preseason matchup between the Lakers and the Phoenix Suns, history was made when Bronny James checked in to the game. For just over four minutes, LeBron James and Bronny shared an NBA court together for the first time.

During a post-game interview, LeBron revealed what the moment was like for him.
“Not real, still trying to get a little bit used to it. But pretty cool,” LeBron said. “It’s definitely a moment that I will never forget.”

The Lakers rookie also spoke on the experience and how he navigates this unique circumstance.
“I’m always thinking about ‘That’s my dad’ because that’s literally my dad,” Bronny said. “So I just go out there and, when I’m playing, he’s just my teammate. That’s all I’m thinking at that point.”
The Lakers lost the matchup 118-114, but Sunday night was a dream come true for the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
