The Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes are underway once again this offseason with rumors continuing to swirl on where the former champion will end up this summer.

Until now there has largely been speculation as to where Antetokounmpo would like to land following his 13 seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, but according to a report from The Athletic he may have his preferred destination in mind.

“While league sources have long maintained that he’s interested in joining the Heat, there are also indications that he’s very intrigued with the prospect of joining a Celtics team that, by any objective measure, is deeper and more dynamic than Miami’s and could thus remain more competitive after a blockbuster deal. And again, Antetokounmpo’s focus on getting back to title contention should not be overlooked,” read Sam Amick’s report.

Any trade for Antetokounmpo by the Celtics will more than likely involve dealing either Jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum in order for a deal to be done. Brown is coming off the best season of his career averaging 28.7 points on 47.7% shooting which earned him All-NBA Second Team recognition.

Simultaneously, Tatum is still recovering from an Achilles injury but was able to return for the final 16 regular season games.

Boston has given no indication that it will be looking to deal one of its stars for Antetokounmpo, but with a long offseason underway for both franchises the speculation will only intensify.
