Following an NBA investigation, Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball has been hit with two fines totaling $60,000 for “making unnecessary and reckless contact” with Bam Adebayo on Tuesday as well as for using profane language in a postgame interview.
The NBA is fining Charlotte's LaMelo Ball $35,000 for his trip of Miami's Bam Adebayo and upgrading the action to a Flagrant, plus fining him $25,000 for cursing postgame, sources tell ESPN.

Ball will avoid suspension, but was fined $35,000 for swiping Adebayo’s foot early in the second quarter of the Hornets’ play-in win over the Miami Heat. Adebayo sustained a back injury on the resulting fall and left the game early.
He has also been fined $25,000 for cursing in his postgame interview. The victory officially sent the Hornets into the second stage of the play-in tournament, where they’ll face the Orlando Magic on Friday.
The winner of that game will claim the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. Luckily for the Hornets, they won’t be without their offensive centerpiece.
