Insider says LeBron James is taking the 76ers’ pitch ‘really seriously’

The NBA offseason is in full swing and four-time MVP LeBron James is by far the most notable free agent still on the market. By this point, it’s no secret that the Cleveland Cavaliers are among the top teams to bring James in.

But ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on “The Stephen A. Smith Show” that the 41-year-old is seriously considering the Philadelphia 76ers to be his next team.

“When the Sixers got Jaylen Brown I did some research and he (LeBron) is taking their pitch very seriously,” Charania said. “When I talk to teams now I have a hierarchy of Cleveland, Miami, Philadelphia, and then some teams on the peripheral”

The Sixers made a huge offseason splash on July 1 when they traded Paul George, two first-round picks and two second-round picks to the Boston Celtics for Jaylen Brown.

In an instant, the Sixers went from a mid-tier playoff team to a legitimate Eastern Conference contender. They now boast a trio of Brown, Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid.

According to Charania, this has gotten the attention of James, who has opted to leave the Los Angeles Lakers after seven seasons.

Despite entering the 24th season of his legendary career, James still has plenty to offer wherever he goes.
