LaMelo Ball injured his left ankle in the Charlotte Hornets’ 116-107 preseason loss to the Washington Wizards on Monday night. It’s been reported today that LaMelo will miss one to two weeks with a Grade 2 ankle sprain.

The Charlotte Hornets PR Twitter page recently shared that the Hornets will be without LaMelo Ball and Mason Plumlee for their last preseason game on Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers. It also said Kelly Oubre Jr. and P.J. Washington are doubtful, while Cody Martin is probable for their final preseason game.

The Hornets need to have healthy bodies in the regular season if they plan on contending for a playoff spot. Luckily this is just the preseason, so having guys out isn’t that serious.

Still, the preseason is the time where the players can build chemistry that hopefully follows them into the season. Especially the young guys.

Hopefully, we see LaMelo and his teammates get better sooner than later, as we’d all love to see how this team can perform with a healthy roster.

They may not be a real contender just let, but if they remain healthy, don’t be surprised if you see the Hornets shock some people and make the postseason.
