Breaking: Bulls trade Lonzo Ball to Cavaliers for Isaac Okoro

The Lonzo Ball era in Chicago has reportedly come to an end. The Bulls are trading Lonzo to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Isaac Okoro.

This trade makes sense for the Bulls as it appears that they will be going all in on Josh Giddey as their starting point guard. By adding Okoro, this gives Chicago a young player who can add toughness at the forward position.

For the Cavaliers, Lonzo adds another playmaker alongside star Donovan Mitchell. Lonzo’s playmaking can open the Cavaliers offense up, making them more dynamic. This was something they struggled with against the Indiana Pacers in the playoffs.

Lonzo Ball’s disappointing Bulls career

Lonzo Ball was supposed to be the next great guard for the Chicago Bulls. He started off hot, but a devastating knee injury sabotaged his Bulls career.

Before injuring his knee, Lonzo averaged 13.0 points and 5.1 assists per game while shooting 42.3% from three as a member of the Bulls. He missed 1,006 days of NBA games due to his knees injury.

After finally returning to playing, Lonzo was clearly not the same player. Nor did he have the opportunity to be the same player.

In 35 games, Lonzo averaged 7.6 points, 3.3 assists and 3.4 rebounds, while shooting 34.4% from three. Hopefully Lonzo can regain his touch in Cleveland as a member of the Cavaliers.
