LaVar Ball

When LaVar Ball predicted LeBron would love Lonzo

LaVar Ball is always pushing what’s best for his sons. That is true today and was true before any of his boys stepped foot on an NBA court.

Once son, Lonzo Ball, was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2017, LaVar knew exactly what would make that experience better: adding LeBron James.

In 2017, LaVar made the prediction that LeBron would leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and join the Los Angeles Lakers.

“Let me tell you this: it would be a great fit and LeBron is coming to LA. What’s in Cleveland? You want to be a superstar, man. Superstar franchise,” LaVar said.

This bold prediction came true, as LeBron came to LA and is still a Laker to this day. LaVar also made another prediction. It would be about LeBron loving playing alongside son Lonzo Ball and that the two would win a championship.

“It’s going to be like this, and I’m talking about reality. He’s going to say, ‘You know what? I went to Miami. Won a championship. Brought one back to my hometown. I’m the only one to go to three different places and bring a championship.’

“You do not give Lonzo Ball the best player in the game and don’t think they going to win! He is going to fall in love with Lonzo so much on the way that he play. They both understand the game. Best player in the game and you don’t think he coming? Stop it!”

LeBron very well may have loved to play alongside Lonzo. Unfortunately, the two never won a championship together.

The two played one season together and just 34 total games. LA then traded Lonzo to the New Orleans Pelicans in the deal that brought Anthony Davis to the Lakers.

The Lakers won the 2020 championship, but Lonzo, unfortunately, has not come close to tasting championship success in the NBA.
