The Boston Celtics have signed free agent center Mitchell Robinson to a three-year $47.4 million deal according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The third year on Robinson’s new contract will be a player option.
Robinson was a key piece to the New York Knicks front court through its run to winning an NBA Championship last season. After being originally drafted by the franchise back in 2018, Robinson has gone on to become one of the premier defenders and rebounders at his position.

Across his eight years in New York, Robinson has averaged 7.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks.
Bringing in a big man was one of Boston’s top priorities this offseason and it has now solidified its defense down low for the upcoming season.
