The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired big man Walker Kessler from the Utah Jazz according to Shams Charania. The Lakers will be sending unprotected first round picks in 2031 and 2033 with first round swaps in 2028 and 2030 in exchange for Kessler.
Along with the trade Kessler will be signing a four-year $130 million extension with the Lakers.

Kessler’s acquisition comes on the heels of LeBron James announcing he will not resign with Los Angeles this offseason, prompting Rob Pelinka and the front office to make a few overhauls to its roster.
After being selected with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Kessler has proven to be a solid young big with a struggling Utah franchise. Through his four seasons with the Jazz Kessler averaged 9.5 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.4 blocks on 68.1% shooting from the floor.
However Kessler appeared in just five-games this past season after suffered a torn labrum.
Remaining healthy will be a top priority for Kessler who hopes to be another lob threat for Luca Dončić next year.
