Caitlin Clark says she’s ‘100% healthy’ at start of training camp

The Indiana Fever officially began their training camp on Sunday. As star guard Caitlin Clark spoke to reporters, she said she’s “100% healthy” after a number of injuries limited her to just 13 games last season.

Clark said she’s worked with coaches to continue training while minimizing the risk of injury.

“I’m a person that doesn’t want to sit out a single rep, like I want to be in there every single time,” Clark said, via the Indianapolis Star’s Brian Haenchen. “But I think just being a little bit smarter with my body … whether that’s recovery, whether that’s pre-court treatment, whatever it is.”

A left quad injury hampered Clark at the beginning of last season, followed by two groin injuries and a bone bruise in her ankle that effectively ended her season.

Clark certainly isn’t the only Fever player that’s dealt with injuries as Kelsey Mitchell, Lexie Hull, Aliyah Boston and Sophie Cunningham have also gotten hurt over the last year.

Now, with a fully healthy squad heading into training camp, the Fever look poised to hit the ground running this season.
