The Phoenix Suns defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 127-100 on Tuesday in a highly anticipated NBA Cup game. The matchup was closely contested through the first two quarters with L.A. having a strong advantage in paint point, but Phoenix having a strong advantage from three-point range.
With a two-point lead at halftime, the Suns hit the gas and exploded in the third quarter, outscoring the Lakers 36-18 in that timeframe. Their lead only expanded in the final period, reaching 27 points in the final minutes.

Anthony Davis led the way for the Lakers with 25 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks while LeBron James finished with 18 points and ten assists.
Ultimately, Phoenix demolished L.A.’s defense on Tuesday, all while the Lakers converted just 24% of their threes and 43% of their total shots.
The Suns will host the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday while the Lakers will travel to San Antonio to face the Spurs.
