The Minnesota Timberwolves lost to the Houston Rockets 117-111 in an NBA Cup matchup on Tuesday. Houston started off strong and outscored Minnesota Through the first two quarters. The Timberwolves made vital adjustments at halftime and erased an 18-point deficit as it was tied at the end of regulation.
After keeping Minnesota scoreless for the last few minutes of regulation, Houston scored 11 unanswered points in overtime and clinched their group’s spot in the NBA Cup Tournament.

Anthony Edwards was Minnesota’s biggest contributor with 29 points, ten rebounds and three blocks. Julius Randle also played well with 21 points and six rebounds.

Fred VanVleet played well for the Rockets with 27 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds as three Houston players finished with 20 points or more.
This loss marks Minnesota’s third loss in a row as they drop below .500 on the season with a record of 8-9. Their next game is a matchup against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday as the Rockets travel to Philadelphia to face the 76ers.
