The Boston Celtics defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 120-117 on Tuesday night, snapping the Cavs’ historic 15-game winning streak. The game was highly-touted as one of the most exciting regular season matchups of November and it was a barn-burner.

Celtics star Jayson Tatum led the way with 33 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and two steals. He was interviewed after the game about the significance of the matchup.

“We were excited for today, we lost the last cup game,” Tatum said. “They’ve been the best team in the league you know, all season. It’s all the competition so we was ready to play today.”

He also gave credit to the team’s resiliency throughout the tough, defensive battle.

“It’s never going to be perfect, it’s never going to go how you expect,” Tatum stated.

For Cleveland, the loss marks their first of the season, capping off a franchise record 15-0 start. Cavs star Donovan Mitchell put up 35 points and eight rebounds while fellow guard Darius Garland struggled from the floor, finishing with just eight points and seven assists.

The Cavaliers will host the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday and the Celtics will travel to Washington D.C. Friday to face the Wizards.
