New York Yankees dominate San Francisco Giants in 2026 season opener

The New York Yankees opened up the 2026 MLB season with a dominant 7-0 win over the San Francisco Giants.

Jose Caballero broke the seal with an RBI in the second innings before the floodgates opened. Ryan McMahon sent in two runs with a single before Trent Grisham did the same and increased the lead to 5-0 early.

Max Fried had an impressive night at the mound, pitching over six shutout innings and allowing just two hits the entire game.

The one downside for the Yankees was Aaron Judge’s unusually quiet night. He went 0-5 with four strikeouts, going hitless on opening day for the first time in his career.

Opening week is set to continue with a huge 11-game slate on Thursday, with the Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Mets set to start things off at 1:15 p.m. EST.
