BREAKING: Washington Wizards win 2026 NBA Draft Lottery

On Sunday, the Washington Wizards won the 2026 NBA Draft lottery and they now possess the first pick in the stacked upcoming draft.

The next three picks will be made by the Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies and Chicago Bulls.

Sunday’s reveal was monumental as the upcoming class is one of the most stacked and anticipated drafts in NBA history.

While it doesn’t have a consensus No. 1 pick, it’s not due to a lack of talent. In fact, its likely the opposite as a number of players in this class could comfortably go first overall.

BYU standout forward AJ Dybantsa led all Division I players in scoring last season and has justifiably shot to the top of most mock drafts. He was the offensive engine for the Cougars while displaying strong defensive abilities.

Kansas Jayhawks guard Darryn Peterson battled health issues throughout the season, but remains as a major candidate for the top pick due to his otherworldly scoring abilities and overall versatility.

Forward Cameron Boozer, son of NBA veteran Carlos Boozer, was arguably the most consistent top prospect all season. He led the Duke Blue Devils to a 35-3 overall record while showing off impressive footwork and an elite post game.

Another dark horse candidate is North Carolina Tar Heels forward Caleb Wilson, who emerged as a dynamic scorer with incredible physical gifts.

Ultimately, most teams in the lottery will be drafting an elite player that would likely go higher in another draft.

As for the Wizards, their interesting year is now even more eventful. With Trae Young and Anthony Davis gearing up to play next season, they have the chance to add an extremely talented prospect to play alongside them.
