The Memphis Grizzlies walked out of Charlotte with a 124-100 victory over the Hornets, but things weren’t perfect. For starters, Ja Morant, who was recently fined for his finger-gun celebration, created a new gesture, where he pretends to throw a grenade into the crowd.

In bigger and more troubling news, rookie Jaylen Wells suffered a nasty fall on a dunk attempt. This led to Wells being taken off the court on a stretcher and transported to a hospital.

Wells went up for a dunk on a fast break and was undercut by the Hornets’ KJ Simpson. This is what caused the hard landing for Wells.

Simpson was called for a flagrant 2 foul, which is an automatic ejection. As Wells was down and being looked at, the players all stood around, watching with a look of concern on their faces.

After being taken to the hospital, it was confirmed that Wells had broken his wrist. Fortunately, that was the extent of his injuries, despite initial concerns that he might have hit his head.

At this time, there’s no information on how long Wells will be sidelined, but we’re all relieved he’s doing okay overall.
