In the hours before Wednesday’s tipoff, the No. 3 Uconn Huskies ruled Tarris Reed Jr. out for the battle against the No. 4 Arizona Wildcats due to an ankle injury. Without their leading scorer and rebounder, UConn was fighting an uphill battle from the start.
The shorthanded Huskies still played a very competitive game, but couldn’t outlast Koa Peat and the Wildcats, losing 71-67.

Peat finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds while veteran guard Jaden Bradley had a game-high 21 points.
For the Huskies, freshman Eric Reibe led the way with 15 points, four rebounds and two blocks.
Arizona remains undefeated after improving to 5-0 while UConn fell to 4-1.
