The New York Knicks held the homecourt advantage at the beginning of the Eastern Conference Finals. They were supposed to beat the Indiana Pacers.
After two games in New York, they find themselves in a 0-2 series hole. One expert believes the blame falls on the head of coach Tom Thibodeau.

One of the Knicks’ biggest fans, ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith, wasn’t too happy with how New York finished games. After the Knicks failed to win a game in their first two matchups against the Pacers, Smith went off on Knicks’ coach Tom Thibodeau.
“I’m trying to keep my cool, you know, there’s always hope, but I don’t understand for the life of me how in the hell Tom Thibodeau has Kat playing just 28 minutes,” Smith said.
“He’s going to try to tell us it was defense, but with Mitchell Robinson on the court, the deficit increased. Jalen Brunson, that shot near the end of regulation, I don’t know what that was about. I don’t know what else to say.”
Smith wasn’t finished yet—he continued his rant against Thibodeau.
“I don’t know what Tibbs is doing tonight. I have no clue. I’m just going to think, I’m just going to think about it, New York, fix it down. Oh, two looks like we’re going home. Looks that way. Don’t know if it is that way.”
The Knicks are in some serious trouble against the Pacers. As the series progresses, if coach Thibodeau can’t make the correct adjustments, New York will, unfortunately, be heading home sooner rather than later.
This series is shaping up to be the best of the postseason. The only question remaining: Can the Knicks steal a game in Indiana?
