Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on Game 6: “We sucked tonight”

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander didn’t mince words after his Oklahoma City Thunder were blown out in Game 6. SGA admitted that he and his team “sucked tonight,” and this level of maturity is what could lead OKC to a championship on Sunday.

The Thunder lost 108-91 and trailed by 31 points at one point. OKC shot 41.9%, which was actually better than the Pacers, who shot 41.3% from the field.

The reason Indiana won so easily, was because they attempted 18 more field goals than Oklahoma City. OKC committed 21 turnovers in the game, with Gilgeous-Alexander committing eight of them.

After the loss, SGA spoke about the Thunder’s Game 6 performance.

“The way I see it is we sucked tonight,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “We need to learn the lessons, and we have one game for everything we worked for, and so do they. The better team Sunday will win.”

When pressed on his eight turnovers, SGA again, kept it real.

“Some of them I just think was carelessness and not being focused and not being engaged,” SGA said. “They played harder than us tonight as well, and when a team plays harder, they usually turn the other team over.”

Game 7 will be played this Sunday at 8:00 PM EST. This will be the Thunder’s last chance to prove that the better team will win.
