Oklahoma City has the best record (62-12) in the National Basketball Association and is the trendy pick to an NBA Champion.

The league playoffs, starting with the Play-In Tournament, begins in a few weeks. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or SGA has the Thunder head and shoulders above everyone else. The 26-year-old is on track to being the NBA’s Most Valuable Player this season, averaging a league-high 32.9 points per game. SGA recorded his 47th showing of 30-plus points in Saturday’s win for Oklahoma City over Indiana. He had 33 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, and a steal in 132-111 victory versus the Pacers.

Alexander made three of six 3-pointers, pushing the Thunder’s winning streak to nine games.

According to NBA.com, he remains ahead of Denver’s Nikola Jokic for the top spot in the MVP race.

Tyrese Haliburton of the Pacers said SGA is the NBA’s MVP.

“I don’t have a vote, but I bet you if you took a player poll… He would win,” Haliburton said of Alexander via The Athletic.

Alexander has proven he’s one of the top scorers and players in the league. He will have the Thunder prepare to take on the eighth-seed in the Western Conference when the playoffs start on April 19.
