Sacramento Kings guard Zach LaVine has opted into his $49 million player option according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

This will be the final year of his original five-year $215 million extension he signed with the Chicago Bulls prior to being traded to the Kings.

In his two seasons with the Kings LaVine has averaged 20.6 points, three assists, three rebounds while shooting 41.6% from three.

Despite the impressive stat-line, LaVine’s impact has not resulted in regular season success for the Kings who will likely be looking to begin another roster rebuild in the coming future.
