Despite receiving an invite to America’s royal wedding, NBA and broadcast legend Charles Barkley opted to stay home.
Barkley received an invite to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding last week but decided not attend. He explained his decision to remain away from the festivities during a radio interview on Philadelphia’s 97.5 The Fanatic.

“I don’t go to weddings or funerals,” Barkley said per Awful Announcing. “But I did get an invite, and I politely declined because I thought it was going to be a crap show. I love Travis and Jason, and I’ve only met Taylor one time, but yeah, I did get an invite. But I said, that’s just too much. I just want to hang out and play golf, and I don’t want to dress up and all that other stuff. But I appreciate the invitation; it was pretty special.”
Barkley was just one member of a robust guest list ranging from sports to pop culture personalities galavanting around Madison Square Garden on their special day.
