Dallas has great momentum, with Anthony Davis scoring 27 points and Klay Thompson’s hot shooting in their matchup vs. the Kings. The Mavericks will try to carry this into their matchup against the Grizzlies.

Memphis fought hard against the Golden State Warriors but ultimately failed. They lost 121-116, and are now forced to play the Mavericks to reach the playoffs. Who has the upper hand?

Mavericks vs. Grizzlies: Season series

The two teams met four times during the season, but only one had the advantage. The first meeting occurred on December 3, 2024, in Dallas.

Dallas won the game 121-116. As far as the upcoming Play-In game is considered, this game can be thrown away as Luka Doncic was on the team and dominated with 37 points.

About a month later the teams met in Memphis, and the Grizzlies took over. Memphis won 119-104 thanks to 35 points from Jaren Jackson Jr. Doncic was still on the Mavs roster but was out with an injury.

The third meeting was played on March 7, 2025, and was the first game played without Doncic on the Mavs roster. Dallas was also without Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis because of injuries.

The Grizzlies won 122-111, thanks to 31 points from Ja Morant and 27 from Desmond Bane. Memphis also won the last meeting between the two teams, via a 132-97 blowout. Both teams were without their stars in the game.

The Grizzlies won the season series 3-1 but with Davis back and playing solid ball, Memphis may have a tough time securing the victory.

Tip-off is tonight at 9:30 PM EST. Who will clinch the final playoff spot?
