Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has officially been ruled out of Saturday’s Game 4 against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to the hip injury that he sustained during Game 3 on Thursday.
Late in the second quarter of that matchup, Morant went up for a fastbreak dunk attempt, but was fouled in mid-air by OKC’s Luguentz Dort, causing him to fall hard on his hip. After Morant left the game and returned on crutches, the Grizzlies gave up a historic 29-point comeback and lost the game.

Absolutely tragic because the Grizzlies would’ve had a chance if Ja never got injured

He gave all he can – playing injured, and then getting hurt even more.
OKC will sweep this one.— MrBuckBuck (@MrBuckBuckNBA) April 25, 2025
It’s unfair to say that Dort did or didn’t mean to injure Morant, but Dort appeared to slip on the court just before the dunk attempt, which could have made it harder for him to react.
Now down 0-3 to the top team in the league, the Grizzlies will need a miracle if they want to complete a comeback.
