The price for Giannis Antetokounmpo was always going to be high no matter what. But the Miami Heat may not be interested in throwing whatever assets it has to get the Greek Freak to South Beach.

In a report from the Miami Herald’s Anthony Chiang, the Heat are not interested in completely overhauling the main corp of its roster in a trade for Antetokounmpo. Despite already having Bam Adebayo as an untouchable player in any deal, Miami may want a few more pieces hanging around if a deal ultimately goes through. This includes players such as Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware, Pelle Larsson, Nikola Jovic and Tyler Herro who are all linked to a potential deal.

Any trade would certainly involve Herro who is the one major creator on the perimeter which would leave Miami scrambling to find a true ball handler to support a front court of Adebayo and Antetokounmpo. But for a player of such status and talent, it could still be worth it for Miami to just figure things out afterwards.

Despite the hesitation around a the lofty package, Miami is still in the top of the running alongside the Boston Celtics who are making their final pitches to Milwaukee who is expected to make a trade ahead of tomorrow’s NBA Draft.
