One of the greatest stars in the history of Alabama men’s basketball has signed a two-way NBA contract.

Mark Sears was not selected in this year’s NBA Draft, but the decorative point guard is a member of the Milwaukee Bucks.

A native of Muscle Shoals, Ala., Sears chose the University of Alabama as his transfer destination after two years at the University of Ohio. He lit up the Southeastern Conference for three seasons, playing in 101 games. Sears averaged a career-high 21.5 points. 50.8 percent shooting from the field, and 43.6 percent from 3-point range in the 2023-24 campaign. He was on the 2022-23 Crimson Tide team that won the SEC regular season championship and conference tournament championship.

Sears averaged 18.6 points per game last season, but he was the catalyst behind Alabama advancing to the Final Four of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament for the first time in school history in 2023-24. He finished his career going to the NCAA Tournament all three seasons with the Tide. Sears was a Consensus first-team All-American (2025) and a two-time first-team All-SEC selection. He stands second all-time in school history for career points with 1,950, while ranking seventh for steals.
