The Los Angeles Lakers training camp is just a few weeks away. Lakers star LeBron James recently spoke on an episode of “The Shop” about how he feels about playing alongside his son Bronny James this season.
“I am so excited for training camp. I mean, having your son work with you, it’s like the greatest thing. I can’t wait for this moment. I really cannot wait to hit the floor with him. It’s going to be pretty surreal for me,” James said. “That might be the first time I sit back out of my whole career like, (expletive), this is really cool.’”

The two are set to become the first father-son duo to play together on the same team. In fact, this will be the first time ever that a father and a son will be playing in the NBA at the same time.
LeBron is coming off of a season in which he continued to play at a high level, despite being the oldest player in the NBA. Bronny is coming off of his first and only season at the University of Southern California. He had a limited amount of playing time, but he was ultimately drafted by the Lakers as the 55th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
