John Stockton‘s assists record falls. Yes, you’ve read that right. Stockton is one of the greatest point guards in NBA history and he holds many unbreakable records, like having the most career assists with 15,806.

Still, one of Stockton’s Utah Jazz records was broken and it was for the most assists by a Jazz rookie. The player who achieved this feat was Isaiah Collier, who broke the record when he found Brice Sensabaugh for a three, recording his 416th assist.

“Isaiah’s passing has exceeded our expectations,” Utah Jazz head coach Will Hardy said. “He had the transition game before getting to Utah, and he’s really done a lot of work with his reads in the halfcourt. Teammates love playing with him.”

Collier now has 419 career assists as he finished with seven in the Jazz’s 110-106 loss to the Charlotte Hornets. Still, things are looking bright for Collier and his young Utah Jazz team. If Collier can turn himself into a modern version of the legendary John Stockton, then maybe the Jazz can return to the top of the Western Conference.
