The Arizona Cardinals placed rookie running back Jeremiyah Love on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain, NFL Network reported. He is expected to miss four to five weeks.

Love sustained the injury Sunday during Arizona’s overtime win against the Dallas Cowboys. He exited in the first half, dropped his helmet on the sideline, entered the injury tent for evaluation, and then went to the locker room.

Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur said Monday the injury involves a different area of the ankle than Love’s earlier sprains this season — one in each ankle — and is unrelated to those previous injuries.

Love, the Cardinals’ No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, has gained 268 yards and scored one touchdown across six games. Tyler Allgeier replaced him Sunday and totaled 191 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in the Cardinals’ overtime victory.

Allgeier, 26, is in his fifth NFL season and plays for the Arizona Cardinals. He was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL draft.
