Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal, 19, scored his 14th UEFA Champions League goal as a teenager on Tuesday — surpassing Kylian Mbappé’s previous teenage record of 13.

Yamal opened the scoring in the seventh minute against Aston Villa at Spotify Camp Nou, converting a defensive error with a curled shot past goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. His 14 UCL goals have come in 37 appearances.

Mbappé, Real Madrid forward, previously held the teenage scoring record with 13 goals. He now has 72 career UCL goals, per ESPN data.

Yamal remains the youngest player to start a UEFA Champions League match — aged 16 years and 83 days in his full European debut versus Porto. He is also the youngest to score and assist in a single UCL match, the youngest to score in a UCL semifinal, and holds the records for most UCL goals before turning 18 (5) and before turning 19 (11).

He is no longer the youngest player to appear in the UCL knockout stages — a record Max Dowman broke earlier this year.

Yamal finished third in last week’s Ballon d’Or voting, behind Harry Kane and Mbappé. In 15 appearances across all competitions this season, he has scored 13 goals and recorded 11 assists.
